Playa de la Arena is a small cove of black sands located in the center town of Puerto de Santiago (Tenerife) in Tenerife municipality of Santiago del Teide. It has a steep slope at the edge, which makes the waves of appreciable size break with violence, be a source of fun for swimmers.
Holds the title of being the dean Island Beach with Blue Flag recognition, badge awarded annually by the Foundation for Environmental Education to beaches and marinas that meet a range of environmental conditions and facilities.
